Citizenship Counts is thrilled to share some wonderful news with all of you…

Our Executive Director, Alysa Cooper, will be receiving the Beacon Award from the Ellis Island Honors Society. She is being recognized for her 10+ years of dedication and contributions to Citizenship Counts, the organization she co-founded with Gerda Weissmann Klein.

The goal of the Beacon Award is to change the narrative about immigration and to show that immigrants and their children are vital to the social, cultural and economic fabric of our nation. Beacon Award honorees have excelled in their field and are considered influencers and innovators; those who have changed the way we perceive their industry or profession.

The inaugural Beacon Awards Gala will be held at Battery Gardens in NYC on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Citizenship Counts is honored that many of our partners and supporters will be in attendance at this special event.
