Dr. John and Diane Eckstein began A Journey that Counts, a 3,500 mile Journey to promote citizenship education from sea to shining sea, on January 27th 2012. Follow our inspiring travelers as they walk and bike from San Diego to New York City, visiting schools and other community venues along the way. They are accompanied by two incredible interns, Kelly and Tyler, and their well-mannered dog, Kipp, who documents this Journey from a canine perspective.
