Tyler and John have completed 2038 miles of bicycling.  John and Kipp have completed 306 miles of walking.

Although we are now in Kentucky – Cave City, Kentucky to be exact, we still have things to say about Arkansas and Tennessee, all of which will follow in future blog posts.

As we travel through each state, we are becoming aware of each state’s flag as well as the practice in each state for displaying the flag.  In addition, as each state has a unique history, each flag does as well. Just below is an image and information about the Kentucky State Flag and a link so that you can learn more.  http://www.netstate.com/states/symb/flags/ky_flag.htm

Placed on a navy blue field is the seal and words “Commonwealth of Kentucky”. The two friends shaking hands, a pioneer and a statesman, represent all the people. They are acting out the meaning of Kentucky’s motto: “United We Stand; Divided We Fall”. Sprays of the state flower {goldenrod} extend in a half circle around the picture. Flag adopted 1918 amended in 1928 & 1962.
