As of late this afternoon, February 25th, John and Tyler have biked 697 miles, with their longest ride being from Deming to Las Cruces – 70 miles! John and Kipp have walked 145 miles.
We all realized that, somehow, with everything going on, we didn’t get a chance to tell you about our time in Phoenix, early in February, when we were between commitments in San Diego and Tucson. We came home to get ourselves re-organized and to be part of a wonderful event at Pardes Jewish Day School. We also had the chance to be with family and friends, which we enjoyed immensely! You will see at the end of this post some photos from our event at Pardes.
While we were home, Channel 3 was kind enough to broadcast on Good Morning Arizona a segment about Citizenship Counts and our Journey. We were very excited to have Tess Rafols and her crew do the story and found them to be both patient and professional in their coverage.
Life in a 28 foot RV is very different from life in our homes. I’ll write about this in more detail soon, but, suffice it to say, that we learned a lot during the first ten days of our Journey. We needed to do some rethinking so that, for example, we could find things when we needed or wanted them!
We also needed a few repairs on our RV’s, which meant being in touch with Joe Morales at Cruise America, who has been extremely helpful from the first time he worked with us to make decisions about the RV’s we would rent. He has helped us to know much about life in an RV, and we are extremely grateful to Joe and Cruise America for working so closely with us.
While we were at home, many of our family and friends came to see the RV so that they would be able to picture where we are living for so many months.
